Nowadays, prostitution is regarded as a taboo subject for most of the people. It was considered to be harmful with hidden criminal behavior. Despite of being regarded as a bad industry, prostitution is a billion-dollar industry throughout the world. A large number of men and women got enrolled in the prostitution market as suppliers and consumers. As today in US, Nevada is the only one state which provides legal prostitution with laws limited while other states consider prostitution as outlaw and have different punishments towards it. Although some groups of people holding the opinion that legalizing prostitution is not as good as people simply expected, I still think that it is better for the US government to legalize the prostitution and brothels with several reasons. With the legalizing prostitution, regulations like condom use and annually physical examination can be achieved into the brothels. In this way, it can help cut the chance of getting STDs and reduce the health expendit ures. Also, with the legalization of the prostitution, there will be less sexual assaults and violent attacks towards sex workers. From the data, there exist a consensus that the healthcare expenditures would decrease as a result of the legal prostitution.
